HISTORY
The tragic attack of 9/11 inspired my oldest son to join the Army in January of 2002. Since that time, I have attended every service school graduation, deployment or redeployment ceremony at various bases throughout the United States. At each event, I searched for the perfect item to bring home as a keepsake. I always returned home with a T-shirt or cap that would end up in a closet or drawer. I wanted something I could carry with me everyday.
In August of 2009, all the family gathered at Ft. Benning to celebrate his graduation from Ranger School. I wanted something to give them to commemorate this important day. Since I have been designing and manufacturing fine jewelry for close to 40 years, I took the theme of the Ranger Tab and using my cad/cam system, designed the first ServiceTab key chain.
I brought several key chains to the graduation and gave them to family and friends. My son gave several out to soldiers in his class. When they wanted more it was evident that I was not the only one wanting such a keepsake.
I introduced a very small line of the key chains in my retail store. They were an immediate success. In the last year, ServiceTabs has grown to a collection of over 200 unique designs, representing each branch of the service.
